Mini Funcation to Great Wolf Lodge

We didn't get to do anything over Spring Break because Hubs was working so we planned a little family funcation a few weeks later. The girls only had a half day of school on Thursday so we headed out after picking them up. We were just at Great Wolf in early December but the girls wanted to go back so that's what we did. It's a really neat place, if you have never been, but on the pricey side.

We went all out this trip and booked a spa appointment at Scoops for the girls and also treated them to Wake Up with Wiley which is breakfast with the characters Wiley, Violet and Oliver. We also visited Legoland, Grapevine Botanical Gardens and Bass Pro Shops.

First night's story time. I had a pina colada to help me go nighty-night. ;)

Wake Up with Wiley breakfast where they met Wiley, Violet and Oliver.

Had fun at Legoland but did a whole lot of standing around and waiting in line.

Easter Bunny @ Great Wolf and walked through Grapevine Botanical Gardens.

Spent Easter morning being pampered at Scoops Spa.
They had an organic chocolate facial and flavored mani/pedi.

Coloring t-shirt and backpack before playing a game of bingo @ Cub Club.

Here are a few things to know when visiting Great Wolf, based on the Grapevine, TX location.
  1. Dining exclusively at the resort is quite pricey, at an average $14 per adult for Loose Moose (buffet) and Camp Critter. If you want to do Wake Up with Wiley (breakfast for kids to meet Wiley, Violet or Oliver) it will run you around $18 per adult and $15 per kid ages 4-12. There is also a pizza place, sweet shop, snack bar in water park and Starbucks. Each room has a mini refrigerator and microwave so bringing in snacks and small meals is a good budget-friendly option.
  2. The parking lot is usually a madhouse. A lot of locals make day trips to the water park so it fills up quickly during the day. There is always valet, for a price.
  3. MagiQuest is an interactive game where kids quest throughout the hotel so the hallways can become rather loud during the day and into the night. TIP: Request a room away from the stairs and elevators. You can thank me later.
  4. Violet usually visits Scoops at around 11 am for daily social hour and will hang out in the hallway between Scoops and the arcade for a bit.
  5. Howling Heroes (promo code) is reduced rate for Armed Forces, Law Enforcement, EMS and Firefighters. You must show valid ID at check in and it's a 2 room limit per ID.
